Christine Wee Christine Wee was Assistant Director for Na Leo Lani from 2003-2010 and has been a Sweet Adeline for over 12 years. She is currently enrolled in the Sweet Adelines International (SAI) Director's Certification Program and has attended Region 12's LAW (Learn Arm Waving) School in 2007 and SAI's International Education Seminar in 2004, 2006 and 2008. She has also been a Lead section leader, two-time Show Chairperson and has sung in three quartets. She comes from a "barbershop family" whose members have sung or currently sing in a barbershop chorus: her husband (with Sounds of Aloha Chorus), her daughter and mother-in-law with Na Leo Lani. Formerly an elementary classroom teacher for 14 years, she is now in her third year as the Fine Arts Teacher at Pauoa Elementary School. She is certified in the Orff-Schulwerk music approach, is a grant recipient of the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, an honoree of the ARTS FIRST Honors Educators, and a finalist for the ARTS FIRST Arts Excellence Awards in 2009. She also directs her school's chorus (Na Keiki Mele O Pauoa) and The Pauoa Ukulele Club. She is a board member of Hawaii Orff-Schulwerk Association, and a member of American Orff-Schulwerk Association, Hawaii Music Educators Association and American Choral Directors Association. |
